The National Steering Committee for the Implementation of Vietnam’s COP26 Commitments is responsible for directing and coordinating the implementation of Vietnam’s commitments under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). As the successor to the National Steering Committee on Climate Change (2010) and the National Committee on Climate Change (2012), the current body is mandated to strengthen coordination across ministries, sectors, and local governments; advance cooperation with international partners; oversee the development and revision of climate-related policies, laws, and strategies; guide the implementation of priority programs on climate change response and energy transition; and facilitate the mobilization of financial and technological resources. The Committee members include department-level leaders from relevant ministries and agencies, with the Prime Minister acting as the committee chair.
